Foxboro came into being in
1983 when I purchased two Golden Retrievers from
Kathy Heisler of Thornfield Kennels.
Unfortunately, one of those original dogs was
dysplasic, so Kathy replaced her with the dog that
would grow up to become Ch. Thornfield Chase
Manhattan. Chase was an all breed and Specialty
Best In Show winner and a member of the GRCA Show
Champions Hall of Fame. He opened the door for me
and I was off.

I purchased
a sister of Chase (the breeding
was done four times and produced
17 Champions for Thornfield) who
became Ch. Thornfield Step Aside.
"Cassie" was the foundation bitch
for Foxboro. She was a top
producer, with group and Specialty
winning children. Cassie was what
I consider to be the ideal Golden
Retriever in type, temperament and
health. She lived to the lovely
old age of thirteen and a
half. Both Cassie and Chase were
Outstanding Producers with the
Golden Retriever Club of America.
While we still have an interest in
Goldens, the focus of Foxboro is
primarily on Springers presently.
The first English Springer Spaniel
entered my life as a gift to my
daughter, Alex, in 1998. This
bitch, who became Ch. Pembroke La
Vida Loca, changed everything!
Known as "Allie Bean", she quickly
became our favorite house dog and
finished her championship easily.
Allie was bred by Alice Berd
(Pembroke) and Sandra Dunn.
She was a wonderful foundation for
our breeding program in Springers.
We lost Allie in the spring of
2011 and while our heartdog is
gone, we are fortunate enough to
have her legacy live on through
over 20 champions, agility and
obedience titled dogs, therapy
dogs and cherished family
companions.
We are
passionate about Springers.. While
some Foxboro dogs are show dogs,
the majority are lovely companion
dogs that are part of the family.
My goal is to produce beautiful,
healthy and sane dogs regardless
of their "profession". I will not
compromise on health or
temperaments! All breeding stock
must have their health clearances
as well as sterling temperaments.
Many hours of thought and research
goes into each planned Foxboro
breeding. We adhere to the parent
club's Code of Ethics (ESSFTA) and
are members of the ESSFTA Breeder
Referral. I maintain lifelong
support for any Foxboro dog. |
